ABOUT JOSIE REMZI
After extensive training (10 years), I’ve been a counsellor and then counselling psychologist for over 15 years working both within the NHS and private practice. This has included Private Health Insurance companies, namely BUPA and Pru Health and companies specialising in trauma referrals. I have years of hands on experience of working with people who have mental health issues, learning disabilities or those suffering depression, anxiety or distress due to the pressures of their everyday living - stress, bereavement, abuse, OCD, trauma, being just some of those things.
How we all function as human beings is both diverse and complex, which causes us to face challenges differently. How we deal with those challenges could make it difficult for us to move forward with our lives. Sometimes when dealing with situations we might move towards props like alcohol and food and at other times we might develop behaviours that we think will keep us safe from harm like double and triple checking that we have done something or washing more. These behaviours are triggered by our thoughts.
Sometimes we can become 'stuck' because of life events and believe we can't move on, we can then compensate by filling our bodies with toxic substances or want to harm others or ourselves (emotionally, verbally or physically). It is not easy then to move on, but if you gave yourself a choice - would you prefer to stay where you are or move on? Let me help you to make that move and change your life.
